Frequently Asked Questions

What is Somatic Symptom Integration Coaching?

Somatic Symptom Integration Coaching is a holistic approach that explores the relationship between the symptoms we experience, the body, emotions, inner experiences, and the wider context of our lives.

Rather than focusing only on getting rid of symptoms, we explore what they may be communicating and what becomes possible when we develop a different relationship with what we are experiencing.

What does “integration” mean?

Integration means bringing different parts of our experience into greater awareness and relationship.

Sometimes there are experiences, emotions, or parts of ourselves that have been pushed aside, overlooked, or become difficult to hold. Integration allows us to meet these experiences with greater understanding and compassion, creating space for a more whole relationship with ourselves.

What does “remembrance” mean in your approach?

Remembrance is not about becoming someone new.

It is about reconnecting with who you already are beneath the layers of adaptation, striving, disconnection, and life experiences that may have pulled you away from yourself.

Does this mean my symptoms are “all in my head”?

Your symptoms are real, and they deserve to be taken seriously.

This work does not dismiss physical symptoms or suggest that they are imagined. Instead, we explore the different dimensions of your experience- physical, emotional, relational, and symbolic- with curiosity and compassion.

Are you saying symptoms have meaning?

I believe symptoms can sometimes carry information about our lives, experiences, relationships, and inner world.

Rather than assuming what a symptom means, we approach it with curiosity and openness and allow its meaning to emerge through the process of exploration.

What kinds of symptoms or experiences can this work support?

People are often drawn to this work when they are living with chronic or persistent symptoms, stress-related experiences, emotional overwhelm, burnout, life transitions, or a sense that something deeper is asking for their attention.

Some people arrive after receiving a medical diagnosis, while others are navigating symptoms that remain unexplained. Many have already explored different approaches and are looking for a new way of relating to what they are experiencing.

Rather than focusing on a particular diagnosis or symptom, we meet the experiences that are present for you and explore what they may be inviting you to notice.

What happens during a session?

Each session is unique.

Together, we slow down and explore what is present in the moment. This may include body sensations, emotions, thoughts, dreams, inner imagery, life experiences, relationships, or patterns that are asking for attention.

There is nothing you need to prepare in advance. We simply begin wherever you are.

What if I don’t know how to connect with my body or inner experiences?

That is completely okay.

You do not need any special skills, spiritual beliefs, or previous experience to begin this work.

We start with what is naturally present and gently follow the process from there.

Is this therapy?

This work is coaching and experiential exploration, not psychotherapy or medical treatment.

While my background includes training in Counseling Psychology and my work is informed by a range of psychological and healing traditions, I do not diagnose or treat mental or physical health conditions. This work is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.

Do I need to stop working with my doctor, therapist, or other practitioners?

This work can exist alongside medical care, psychotherapy, and other forms of support. I encourage you to continue working with qualified healthcare professionals whenever appropriate.

Do I need to be spiritual to benefit from this work?

People from many different backgrounds are drawn to this work.

While my approach includes symbolic, experiential, and nature-inspired perspectives, you are always invited to engage with the process in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you. You do not need to share any particular spiritual beliefs.

How many sessions will I need?

Every person’s journey is different.

Some people come for support around a particular experience, while others choose a longer-term process of exploration and integration.

There is no fixed timeline. We honor the unique rhythm of your process and allow the work to develop at its own pace.

Is this approach right for me?

This work may resonate with you if:

  • You are living with chronic or recurring symptoms.
  • You sense there may be a deeper layer to what you are experiencing.
  • You feel drawn toward greater self-understanding and connection.
  • You are looking for a more holistic and relational way of exploring your experience.

You do not need to know exactly what you are looking for before beginning. We can start with what is present and discover the next step together.

What if I have questions before booking?

You are warmly welcome to reach out.

A conversation can simply be an opportunity to ask questions, share what is bringing you here, and explore whether this work feels like a supportive fit for you.

A Note About Your Support Journey

Every person’s healing journey is unique, and different forms of support may be meaningful at different times.

This work is a process of exploration, awareness, and integration rather than medical or psychological treatment. If you have concerns about your health, I encourage you to seek support from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

You Are Not Broken

A Different Way of Healing

Healing is not about fixing what is wrong or becoming someone else.

It is about remembering, reconnecting, and allowing what is ready to emerge within you to unfold in its own rhythm.
